Edward P. Santa Maria, 77, entered eternal life on April 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Bayard.
Edward was born to Ezequiel and Soledad Santa Maria on January 13, 1944 in Vanadium. His passions in life were working as an underground miner, spending time with his wife of 53 years and his family. Edward was a diehard Cowboys fan and sat every Sunday to watch his Cowboys. Another one of his passions was his daily visit from his mamitas (Isabella) who was the apple of his eye.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Lucinda Santa Maria; one son, Edward E. Santa Maria (Marcy); one daughter, Veronica Duran; grandchildren, Edward Santa Maria, Dominick Duran, Sabrina Garcia (Chris), Alejandra Santa Maria and Regan Duran; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Aiden, Isabella, Aeris, RJ, Alex, Avery, Nicholas and Andres; brothers, Jesus and Alfonso Santa Maria; sisters, Lydia Santa Maria, Dolores Santa Maria, Delia Jurado, Connie Soliz. He was preceded in death by his loving grandson, Nicholas Duran; parents, Ezequiel and Soledad Santa Maria; brothers, Ernesto and Zeke Santa Maria; sister, Mary Maldonado.
Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels. The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at ten o’clock in the morning with the Memorial Mass to follow at eleven o’clock. Officiating will be Father Martin Okonkwo. Honorary pallbearers will be all his family and friends.
