Elisa C Flores

Elisa Chavira Flores, a cherished resident of Silver City, NM, passed away on November 27, 2023, peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Hurley, NM, on September 13, 1933, to Francisco and Leandra Chavira, Elisa's life was a tapestry of warmth, dedication, and simple joys.  A kind-hearted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Elisa devoted her life to her family, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. She enjoyed cooking, baking and her days were filled with the rhythmic hum of a sewing machine, the artistry of crocheting, and the delicate precision of embroidery. Each handmade gift she lovingly crafted for family and friends became a tangible expression of her affection.  In addition to her creative pursuits, Elisa found solace in the pages of her Bible and immersed herself in the wisdom of medical books. Her curiosity was as boundless as her love for her family, creating a rich and fulfilling life.

Elisa is survived by her two daughters, Connie and Virginia, and her seven sons: Ruben and his wife Trina, Lorenzo and his wife Larissa, Louie and his wife Cammy, Tony, Joe, Ramon and his wife Peri, David and his wife Sofia and a Stepson Sammy Jr and his wife Gina. All together, they continue her legacy with a combined 27 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel V. Flores, her parents, Francisco and Leandra Chavira, brothers Tomas and Louie, sisters Andrea and Angie, and an infant sister, Virginia, a daughter in law Elaine, as well as the memory of two beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey and Kindra.

Public visitations are scheduled for Friday, December 8th, from 10 AM to 11 AM Baca's.  Funeral Chapel. A heartfelt celebration of life service will then take place 11 AM to 12PM, concluding with interment at Memory Lane Cemetery. Pallbearers Elmer, Jeremy, Lucas, James, Gabriel, and Isaiah Flores will carry her with honor, while the remaining grandchildren will stand as honorary pallbearers.

In reflecting on the life of Elisa, we remember a woman whose love, honesty and creativity knew no bounds. May her memory be a source of comfort, and her legacy of warmth and devotion continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
