Betty Ann was very proud of her Italian heritage. She was a dedicated, committed and meticulous about everything she was involved in such as, Farmers Market, Crime Stopper’s and Holy Family Catholic Church. Betty Ann loved music by George Strait, mother nature, cooking versatile dishes, purple, good foreign movies, traveling and most of all, spending time with friends. Knowing a person could be as simple as looking at our lineage for we are all children of God. She was our sister in Christ. As such, we might look in the mirror to sneak a peek into her soul. Betty Ann lived life fully spending time statewide and abroad. She spent some of her childhood in Laredo, Texas being schooled by Benedictine nuns. She later moved to Houston, Texas. Moreover, then blessed to have spent thirty- three fun filled years in Saudi Arabia with her husband, Thomas W. Strauss. Betty Ann attended nursing school attaining an education towards becoming an RN. Betty Ann served God and her fellow man as a caregiver in our local community. She was the most caring, dedicated and knowledgeable nurse you would ever know. Furthermore, Elizabeth Ann Strauss was a sacristan for Holy Family Catholic Church and the chapel for many years. She was content to serve quietly from her own little corner of our chapel. Betty Ann was committed and dedicated her time in service whether it be with Crime Stoppers and/or Holy Family Catholic Church. She participated as a member of the Parish Council, collecting Pepper’s receipts to profit the church, Fund Raising Committee and Housekeeping Committee. Betty Ann was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church which she truly loved.
It is with heavy hearts that we sense the loss of Betty Ann, a kindred spirit who was so much a part of our church family. Yet, it is in joy that we release her to our loving Mother, Virgin Mary to intercede with her merciful Son, Jesus that God grant her eternal peace and perpetual light shine upon her.
Betty Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Strauss. May she always be remembered and may she rest in peace.
