Enrique Chavez Castillo, “Sach”, 67 of Silver City passed away February 9, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 5 to 6 pm at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 6 pm. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. Vincent Catholic Church. Officiating will be Father Oliver Obele. Serving as pallbearers will be Pete Castillo, Daniel Castillo, Rudy Castillo, Jeffrey Castillo, Kari Jo Miller, and Richard Grado. At Enrique's request, cremation will follow.
“Sach” as he was affectionately known was born in space, Santa Rita, on May 20, 1952 to Jose and Manuela (Chavez) Castillo. He was a member of the Catholic Church and had worked as a cement finisher for many years. A die hard Oakland Raider fan, he loved his cheeseburgers. Sach enjoyed passing his time watching Jeopardy, The Cooking Channel and Wheel of Fortune. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.
“Sach” is survived by his mother, Manuela Castillo who affectionately called him “Boy” of Silver City; one son, Eli Castillo (Nic) of Casper, WY; one daughter, Charlotte Castillo of Azusa, CA; Brothers, Pete Castillo (Sallie) of Silver City, Daniel Castillo (Rebecca) of Silver City, Rudy Castillo (Sylvia) of Silver City; Sisters, Margie Miller of Silver City, Aurora Mendoza (Tony) of Albuquerque, NM, Virginia Casares (Alex) of Pueblo West CO, Rosalia Beyhan (Danny) of Farmington, NM Also surviving are two grandchildren, Olivia Marley Castillo and Rowan Cooper Castillo, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. “Sach” was preceded by his father Jose in October of 2000 and brother-in-law, Frank Miller in October of 2007.
