Esperanza (Ortiz) Flores

Esperanza Flores, 76, Deming resident passed away Saturday October 31, 2020 at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2020 from 3 to 6 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel.  A rosary will follow at 6 o’clock led by Gloria Barraza. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church.  Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.  Deacon Dan Peña will officiate. COVID restrictions will be in place.

Esperanza was born June 10, 1944 in Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico to Carmen Muñoz and Librado Ortiz. She moved to Deming in 1998 coming from Mexico and was a homemaker.  Esperanza was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting and had a green thumb with plants. She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her loving husband, Pedro Flores of the home; children, Jose Alfredo Flores of Deming, Sylvia Flores (Jorge Juarez) of Tucson, AZ, Gilberto Flores (Claudia) of Spearmint, TX, Esgardo Flores of Deming and Yesenia Flores (Hector Rodriguez) of Deming; siblings, Elva, Ramona and Maurilio Ortiz all of Mexico; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Esperanza was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Lucio Flores and Cesar Armando Flores; sister, Natividad Ortiz.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jose Alfredo Flores, Esgardo Flores, Hector Rodriguez, Reyes Flores, Omar Juarez, Jorge Juarez, Gilberto Flores and Javier Mendoza.
