Esther Mireles Obituary

Esther Magallanes Mireles, 98, longtime Deming resident passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 in the comfort of her home.

The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10 o’clock in the morning led by Deacon Bill Holguin at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:45 with Fr. Francis Gyau officiating. Following the services Esther will be laid to rest at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Ysleta, Texas. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbes Crematory.

Esther was born on April 20, 1926 in Socorro, Texas to Manuel Corral and Carmen Magallanes Corral. Esther lost her mother at the very young age of five and all siblings were separated. As Esther grew older, she was a caretaker for many loved ones at a very young age. Later she was reunited with her siblings. At the age of 19 she cared for her grandmother and would even carry her down to the canal and bathe her. Esther took care of many of her family members before moving on with their adulthood lives. She lost her husband and became a single mother and raised her daughter with the help of her sister Mary. She worked as a housekeeper for the Kreteks and became great friends with them for over 50 years. She cared and worried about everyone and was always willing to offer a helping hand to those in need of one. She loved watching wrestling, her Novellas, and Caso Cerrado. She loved and cared for her birds and dogs very much. She enjoyed listening to country western music and Vicente Fernández. Esther was very close to all her family. She was closest to her sister Mary; they went everywhere together and never left each other side.

Esther leaves behind her daughter, Maria Mireles; her grandchildren, Summer Ribeiro, Chazell Smith and Jarred Kimball; her great-grandchildren, Felicity, Destiny, Boston, Ariana, Jacob, Xiana, and Abigail, as well as many extended family and friends and lots of nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her children, John, and Mary and nine siblings, as well as her husband, Alejandro Mireles.
