Frances Janette Capach slipped peacefully into eternity on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at Silver City Care Center in New Mexico at 84 years old. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Jan was the third child born to Donald Lee Mosher and Annie Eleanor DeWitt on May 18, 1941 in Valparaiso, Indiana.
Jan was a sweet and gentle mother, instilling in her children a love of nature, art and compassion. She will be remembered for opening her home to multiple foster children, her passion for food, and love of her many cats.
While living in New Hampshire, she obtained a culinary arts degree, managed a women’s clothing store and worked as a medical courier, providing rural communities access to needed services. She moved to New Mexico in 1999, taking classes at WNMU for computer networking.
She is survived by her sisters, Winifred Anne Jansen and Fredia Louise Sutter of New York, and a sister, Nancy Kathleen Halloway and brother, Charles Martin Mosher of California. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald Richard Brown and sister, Elizabeth Brown. She leaves behind her son, Kenneth Norman Capach of Bayard, NM; daughters, Karen Noreen Dietlein of New Hampshire; and Katherine Nadeen Capach of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she had 8 grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
