Fawn Lee Dery, 45, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2022, with family by her side.
Fawn Dery was born on September 6, 1977, to Patrick & Frieda (Yoder) Fries in New Britain Connecticut. After high school she enlisted into the Army Reserve serving in the Public Affairs Office during Desert Storm receiving an honorable discharge. Fawn worked as a quality control inspector at numerous manufacturing companies in Connecticut. Fawn met her husband, James Dery, who was a commercial driver in 1997. They were married on April 13, 2002. On July 24, 2002, she gave birth to their only child Zachary James Dery. In the summer of 2020, she moved to El Paso Texas. She was employed at El Paso Supported Living Center until her death. Fawn Dery loved her family and was an excellent mother. She loved to travel, she also loved to take motorcycle trips with her husband. She will be remembered as a person who loved her family with a kind and gentle soul and was always available to help friends and family in need. She leaves behind her father Patrick (Betty) Fries of Naugatuck CT, her mother Frieda Fries of Portsmouth RI, her husband James Dery of Deming, NM & her In-laws Arthur Dery Sr. Barbara (Rivord) Dery of Deming NM, Arthur Jr, Michele (Gainer) Dery, niece, Sara Dery and nephew, Austin Dery of Meriden, CT. She was preceded in death by her only child, a son, Zachary Dery in January of 2022. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents Phineas & Wilma Yoder, Lincoln & Glenna Fries, great grandmother, Margret Goggin. She also leaves behind numerous aunts and uncles.
Her memorial service will be at Baca’s Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 12 noon with military honors at Mt. View Cemetery.
