Feliciano Placencia

FELICIANO (CHANO) PLACENCIA, 84, lifelong resident of Lordsburg, NM passed away Thursday July 18, 2024 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.

Visitation will be Wednesday morning July 24, 2024 from 10 to 11 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Deming, NM.  A graveside service will follow at 12:30 at Shakespeare Cemetery in Lordsburg, NM with Fr. Jude Okonkwo and family officiating.

Feliciano was born July 13, 1940 in Lordsburg, NM to Jose and Andrea Fuentes Placencia.  He was a carpenter by trade and began his career with Allen Hill and Alan Koff and eventually owned and operated his own General Construction business.  He loved history and studied the Indian Culture and the many artifacts of the Southwest.  He also enjoyed reading, working around the house and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Dora Placencia of Lordsburg, NM; sons Frank Placencia (Debbie) of Las Vegas, NV, Sal Placencia (Olivia) of Las Cruces, NM; daughter Debbie Bravo (Paul) of Las Cruces, NM and his almost like a daughter Mary Camacho-Dimas (Tommy) of Las Cruces, NM; brothers Manuel Placencia (Janie) of Marana, AZ, Joey Placencia (Rose) of Silver City, NM, Fritz Placencia of Lordsburg, NM, Danny Placencia (Bea) of Lordsburg, NM; sister Alice Castro (Carlos) of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren Chano Bravo of Las Cruces, NM, Andrea Silva (Nate) of Las Cruces, NM, Erik Placencia (Jessica) of Colorado Springs, CO, Krystal Beebe (Michael) of Las Vegas, NV, Bridget Fuller (Daniel) of Dale, TX, and 11 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his sister Reyes Sanchez and brother in-law Pablo Sanchez.

Pallbearers will be Chano Bravo, David Montoya, Michael Placencia, Jason Jacquez, Marina Montez and Stephanie Montez.  Honorary Pallbearers are his nieces and nephews.
