Our father, Felix Correa Norero, 78, of Bayard, has cast aside his earthly weaknesses and returned to the strength of the one true kingdom.
He entered into eternal rest, October 23, 2024, holding his daughter's hand, while in the comforting care of Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces.
Felix was born April 6, 1946 to Alejandro and Belen (Correa) Norero. He was the youngest of eleven children. His first job, he said, at the age of 3 or 4 was to sit on the back of the plow horse to make him move.
He worked for and retired from the copper mine, holding various positions over many years.
He enjoyed crossword puzzles, old westerns and sports on tv and listening to mexican music, especially rancheras.
He is survived by his daughters, Nadine Estrada and Lisa Norero, son Felix Norero Jr., grandson Steven Norero and great grandsons Antonio Norero and Matthew Rivera.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the San Juan Catholic Church in San Juan, NM. The Funeral Mass will follow immediately thereafter. Felix will be laid to rest at San Juan Cemetery beside his mother Belen and his brothers Lorenzo, Gabriel, and Antonio Norero. Father Casmir Anozie will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Felix Norero Jr., Steven Norero, Antonio Norero, Andres Montoya, Tony Norero, Sam Estrada and Lee Sanchez.
Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Rivera, David and Orlando Estrada and Ricardo Rodriguez.
