FRANKIE JOE BIVENS, 34, resident of Las Cruces and former resident of Lordsburg passed away Tuesday January 19, 2021 at University Medical Center in El Paso due to COVID-19 complications.

Visitation will be Wednesday morning, January 27, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Lordsburg from 9 to 11. A graveside service will follow at Mt. View Cemetery with Pastor Michael Cannon officiating.

Frankie was born January 23, 1986 in Silver City and grew up in Lordsburg where he attended the Lordsburg Schools. His passion was cars, he loved to modify and tinker on them every chance he got, especially his Honda.  He previously worked at Adam’s Tire and Auto Center in Las Cruces. Most recently he was a crew trainer at the McDonalds on Hwy 70 in Las Cruces. Frankie was a hard-working family man and loved to spend time with his boys Christopher and Cayden. He absolutely adored the newest member of the family, his niece Ava. Frankie loved to listen to all kinds of music and watch the Ram’s play football. He will be remembered for his wonderful personality and willingness to help anyone that needed it.  He was always laughing and loved to joke around.

Frankie was preceded in death by his grandparents Bobby and Linda Bivens and Blandina Mesa.  He is survived by his mother Barbara S. Bivens and dad Larry Vargas of Lordsburg; sons Christopher and Cayden Bivens of Las Cruces; great grandma, Lillie Bell Bivens of Las Cruces; grandparents Don and Margaret Estrada of Lordsburg; brothers Michael Mesa of Lordsburg and Roberto Mesa of Safford, AZ; sisters Lorri Anne Vargas of Lordsburg, Heather Mesa of Silver City, and Maria Platz of Lordsburg; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Amanda DiMatteo and her 3 sons.

Pallbearers will be Michael Ramirez, Christian and Cameron Casillas, E.J. Vargas, Abel Craig, and Nathaniel Salinas. Honorary bearers are Lorenzo Munoz, Orlando Luna, Ray Guadian, Alex Yee, Isaac Vargas, Michael Mesa and Mary Arvizo.
