Mr. G. Furlon Richey, age 70, of Reserve, New Mexico passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 21, 1956 in Mena, Arkansas to his parents, G. Franklin and Viola Mae (Wilhite) Richey.
Furlon and his family moved to Reserve, NM for a few years when he was four years old and then moved back to Mena, AR when he was eleven years old. Furlon moved back to Reserve to live with his loving wife, Linda whom he met there on a previous visit to see family. Furlon lived in Reserve until his passing. Furlon loved riding horses, fishing, and hunting throughout his life. Furlon also loved playing his guitar in his later years. He loved spending time with his numerous family and friends. Furlon was also known as “Uncle Buck” by his family and friends.
G. Furlon Richey was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of twenty-seven years; three brothers, infant James D. Richey, Jerry Richey and Danny Richey, all of Mena, AR; brother-in-law, Gilbert Armijo of Reserve, NM.
Furlon is survived by his sisters, Sharon Armijo of Reserve, NM and Glenda Bilbo (Johnny) of Mena, AR; brothers, Monte (Lilly) and Dewey Richey (Edwina) of Mena, AR; sister-in-law, Jan Richey; grandson of the home, William Graham; three sons, Justin, Jeremy, and Jason Richey all of Texas; two more grandchildren, numerous loving nephews and nieces and many loving friends.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapel-Silver City. No services will be held at this time. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
