Horace Lee Bounds, Jr. (Jupe), 83, a lifelong San Lorenzo resident entered eternal rest Thursday, December 19, 2019 at his residence.
Jupe was born on January 23, 1936 to Horace L. Bounds, Sr. and Ophelia Ruth Harrington Bounds in Silver City. He met and married the love of his life, Edna Josephine Foster Bounds on January 1, 1957. They were married for 61 years. Jupe was a lifelong rancher who enjoyed working cattle and farming. He also owned a construction company outside of his ranch life. He was a member of the New Mexico Amigos, Federal Land Bank, The Elks and established many businesses in the area. Jupe and Jo enjoyed traveling around the world and experiencing what it had to offer. Jupe loved his family and friends and his last days were at home with his family at his side. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jupe is survived by three sons, Wayne Bounds of Ruidoso, Keith Bounds of Silver City and Steve Bounds (Monica) of San Lorenzo; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at ten o'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Silver City.
