Inocencia C. Murillo, “Chencha” went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at her home.
Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels. The Prayer Vigil and Rosary will take place on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at six o’clock in the evening at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. The Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at ten o’clock in the morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Concluding service and burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Oliver Obele.
“Chencha” as she was affectionately known, was born in El Paso, Texas to Rafael and Dolores Cruz on March 29, 1922. She was 98 years old. She was a devoted catholic and attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Inocencia prayed the Holy Rosary every day and was devoted to St. Jude. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, cooking, and knitting. Inocencia loved to travel, spending time in Mexico, Europe, and especially Rome, where she met Pope Paul VI.
Inocencia is survived by three children, Mary Ann Madrid (Abie) from Las Cruces, Gilbert and David from Silver City; daughter in laws, Angie Murillo, Janet P. Madrid; sister in law, Rosa Apodaca; brother in law, Jesus Ortiz; 30 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and god children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Espiredon; sons, Danny, Rudy, Ralph and one daughter Patsy Murillo; grandchildren, Trish, Gabriel and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Mateo, Derek; daughter-in-law, Vivian Murillo; two brothers and four sisters; parents, Rafael and Dolores Cruz; parents who raised her, Jose and Soledad Mendez; extended family the Ojinaga’s from Santa Rita.
