Jeffrey Silva Diaz, 60 of Arenas Valley passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at his home.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 9 to 10am and the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10 am on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Infant Jesus Catholic Church with the Funeral Liturgy to follow at 10:30 am. Concluding services and burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Silver City. Officiating will be Father Casmir Anozie. Serving as pallbearers will be his brothers, David, Peter, Martin, Richard, Michael and Tony Diaz. COVID-19 restrictions will be apply and 25% of the church capacity will be allowed and masks must be worn.
Jeffrey was born March 12, 1960 in Silver City, NM to David and Mary Silva Diaz. Jeffrey attended and graduated from Cobre High School and was active in cross country running and mastered Martial Arts. He had worked and as a switchman from the Railroad. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan but his greatest love was spending time with his nieces and nephews, his family and friends. Jeffrey will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jeffrey is survived by his brothers, David Diaz (Mary Lou) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Peter Diaz (Irma) of Silver City, Martin Diaz of Las Cruces, Richard Diaz (Carol) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Diaz of Silver City, Tony Diaz (Mari Torres) of Albuquerque, NM and Eric Martinez of Silver City, NM; sisters, Olivia Diaz of Las Cruces, NM, Donna Figueroa (Mike) of Sacramento, CA, and Michelle Candelaria of Hurley, NM. Also surviving Jeffrey are his best friends who cared for him and were always watching out for him, Neto Huerta and Richard Maruffo as well as 21 nieces and nephews. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, David and Mary Silva Diaz.
