Jenaro was born January 7, 1937 in Dwyer, New Mexico to Maria Dominguez and Cipriano T. Baca. He was raised in the valley working with his family on the farm. He married Nellie Ortiz on July 21, 1959 and together they had three children. He was very proud of the work he did at City Rocks State Park for twenty- eight years, he retired in September of 1988. He was a devoted catholic, worshiped and served at San Jose Catholic Church. His faith in God and devotion to St. Jude is what carried him through. Jenaro was known as the “Mayor of Faywood” and the Mimbres Valley will always be his home. He was a farmer, astrologist and historian. He had a keen memory, because he knew all of our family’s history and memorized all of his music. He is known as a talented musician who played with various bands in Luna and Grant county. When Jenaro was around, you were sure to get a serenade. His most important part of his life was his family, always encouraging, giving words of wisdom, praying for, and most importantly caring and loving each one of them. He will be missed by all his family, but especially by the love of his life, “Nellie”. His family knows he is now rejoicing with his son, Steve in Gods eternal kingdom.
