Obituary
JOANNA “JO” STEWART BITTLE, 93, longtime resident of Deming passed away Wednesday May 11, 2022.
A ceremony of life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Deming on Sunday May 15th at 10:45 in the morning during the regular Sunday service. Pastor Mason Davis will be officiating. It will be livestreamed on Bethel Baptist Church facebook page.
Jo was born November 27, 1928 in Curtis, Arkansas to Pearl Everett and Leslie Elizabeth Pontious Stewart. She moved to Deming in November 1964 and has made this her home since. Jo was a born again Christian and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Deming for 57 years. She was also her Neighborhood Watch Captain for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Phillip Harrison Bittle, 2 brothers, Glen Everett “Buzzy” Stewart and Harold Don Stewart, sister Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Stewart and 1 granddaughter. Jo is survived by her daughter Phyllis Kathryn “Kathy” Bittle Brobisky of Halfway, MO, a granddaughter Jordan Blythe Hammond of Donaldson, AR, a grandson Bryson Stewart Bittle of Malvern, AR; 3 great grandchildren, Colton Graham, Broc Rice and Abby JoEllen Bittle; 2 great great grandchildren, Catalina and Carson Graham; 1 brother Charles Franklin “Panky” Stewart of Curtis, AR; 2 sister in laws, Sally Ann Stewart of Colorado and Kathy Stewart of Arkadelphia, AR; brother in law Bill Bittle (Linda) of Gurdon, AR and sister in law Carolyn Trout of Gurden, AR and several nieces and nephews.
