Joe Michael Baeza

With saddened hearts our father, brother, son and grandfather, Joe M. Baeza passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the age of 65.

Visitation will begin Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 9 to 9:30 in the morning at St. Ann’s Catholic Church where the holy rosary will be recited at 9:30. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 with Fr. Aloysius Orekie, Pastor, officiating. Cremation is to follow and has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Joey, as everyone called him, was born on April 19, 1957, to Joe V. (Pepe) Baeza and Consuelo (Parra) Passineau. Joey was happiest tinkering in his garage “The Quarto” with his Harley. Using his extensive knowledge from his background as a journeyman finisher in construction, he would repair and improve on his Quarto when the whim took him. He enjoyed having his friends over for a game of billiards (he liked to think he was a pool shark), darts, sharing food, jokes, stories, and laughter.

Left to mourn his passing is his mother, Consuelo Passineau of Pomona, CA; his aunts and uncles, Danny Baeza of Deming, Alice V. Baeza (Ralph) of Las Cruces and Mary Quarrel (Frank) of Deming; siblings, Hilario Baeza of Deming, Debbie Vargas of Conroe, TX, Cathy, and Marty Baeza; his heartbroken children, Michael Valenzuela of Deming, Sonya Valenzuela (Shawn) of Las Cruces and Anita Baeza of Deming; his grandchildren, Evan, Margaret, Felix, Michael, Lydia, Bonnie, and the youngest Shawn. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose & Carmen Baeza; his father Joe V. Baeza, and his Uncles Manuel and Louis Baeza.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael V. Baeza, Shawn Pack, Felix V. Baeza, Jose Jimenez, Evan Renteria, and Michael Santos.
