John Wesley Ford Jr

John W. Ford, 77, a resident of Silver City, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025. He was born in Las Cruces, NM on September 17, 1947 to John W. and Lorene Ford.

He worked construction for many years before working and eventually retiring from Tyrone Mine.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the flea market and watching NASCAR and NCIS.

John is survived by his two daughters, Tamara Cross and Amanda (Art) Chavez, both of Silver City; grandchildren, Kristine (Matt) Parra of Las Cruces, Brandon (Alyssa) Chavez of Tucson, AZ, and Jordan Chavez of Silver City; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Aden, Eli, Emmett Parra of Las Cruces and Enzley Chavez of Tucson.

He is also survived by one brother, Bobby Ford and three sisters, Margaret (Bob) Selby, Juanita Holder and Anna (Robert) Sullivan, all of Las Cruces.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Henry Beard and son, Justin Ford.
