John Herschel Rives Jr.

John Herschel Rives Jr., 85, a resident of Deming passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born October 25, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana to John Herschal Rives Sr. and Margaret Varner.

Services for John will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel beginning with a viewing from 10 o’clock in the morning till 10:45. He will then be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Deming, New Mexico.

He is survived by his 3 siblings David Rives, Sylvia Beckver and Margaret Rose Rives.
