Jose L. Castro

Jose L. Castro, 57, longtime resident of Deming passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will begin Friday, November 25, 2022 from 10 to 11 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will take place at 11 with Pastor Tony Guerrero officiating. Cremation will follow and has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Jose was born in Nogales, Mexico to Fernando and Luz Maria (Lopez) Castro on April 4, 1965. He married Joann Villegas on April 23, 2001 in Deming. He originated from Eloy, AZ. Jose enjoyed family time, dancing, fishing, and wilderness, he had the heart for musical instruments and his heart had a love for Christian Music.

Jose is survived by his loving wife, Joann Castro of 28 years; his children, Anastacia (Ruben) Valdespino of Elko, NV, Rico Castro of Silver City, David, Samantha, and Madison Castro all of Deming, and his granddaughter, Laileen Valdespino; his mother, Luz Maria Castro of Eloy, AZ; brothers, Raul and Fernando Castro, Anthony and Enrique Alverado, Roger Davis, and Luis Villegas; sisters, Susana Castro, Naomi, Isabel, and Edalia Villegas, as well as many numerous nieces and nephews.

Jose is proceeded in death by his father, Fernando Castro and 2 siblings, Lupe Castro, and Pedro Villegas.
