It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Angel Ojeda on October 3, 2025, in Columbus, New Mexico.

A memorial service will take place Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels at 12:30 in the afternoon. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

Born on May 7, 1964, in the city he loved, Conchos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose and Amelia Ojeda. Jose was many things such as a cherished brother to six siblings, a husband to Marisela Ojeda, a loving father to Victor, Edmundo, Leslie, and Jennifer, and a proud grandfather to five grandchildren.

Jose honorably served in law enforcement for thirteen years, dedicating himself to protecting and serving his community in Luna County.

Jose will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generous heart, and his enduring strength. His warmth, humor, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of many and will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Shortly after his passing, his beloved mother, Amelia Ojeda, joined him in eternal rest a tender reunion between mother and son.

Forever in our hearts, may they both rest in eternal peace.
