Jose Edmundo "Mundo" Arras

Jesus Edmundo Arras “Mundo” 70, Palomas resident passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital ER in Deming, NM.

Visitation will start Tuesday July 20, 2021 in the Velatorio Municipal in Palomas, Chihuahua at 10 o’clock in the morning, then he will be taken to “La Granjita” in Colonia Modelo where a wake will take place. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon in Our Lady of San Juan de Los Lagos Catholic Church. Concluding services and interment will follow at the Cementerio Municipal.

Mundo was born March 22, 1951 to Ramona Porras Duran and Jose Dolores Arras Barrio in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, Mexico. He loved spending time with his family and friends; he enjoyed singing to them at any given chance and always had a smile on his face that gave you a warm welcome and loving embrace from afar or close. Mundo will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bertha Ortiz de Arras of the home; his sons, Vicente Edmundo (Socorro) Arras, Eduardo Arras, Jonathan Jaime (Mariela) Arras; daughters, Angelica (Martin Ramos) Arras and Francelia (Jorge Estrada) Arras; brother, Osvaldo (Rosa Maria) Arras; sisters, Graciela, Bertha, Maria Dolores and Leticia (Antonio) Arras; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jose Dolores Arras and Ramona Porras; siblings, Gilberto, Ernesto and Beatriz.
