Joseph "Joey" Arellano, III Obituary

Joseph F. Arellano III, born on January 28, 1999, passed away on September 24, 2024 at the age of 25.  Joseph was a fighter from an early age, surviving cancer in his youth with the same strength and determination that marked his life.  He was a devoted father to his beloved son, Bentley Arellano, who was the light of his life.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at Six o’clock in the evening on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. The Funeral Liturgy will be at Ten o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.  The Rite of Committal and burial will be at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery.  Officiating will be Father Oliver Obele.  Serving as casket bearers will be Alex Montes, Andrew Ortiz, Rigo Rodriguez, Adam Arellano, Jeremy McDonald, Steven Acosta, Matthew Arellano, and Bobby Gannaway.  Honorary bearers will be David Arellano, Noah Arellano, and Ramon Gutierrez.

Joseph was the cherished son of Joseph and Marcella Arellano and the loving siblings, Mary and Matthew Arellano.  He also leaves behind several nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family who will miss him dearly.

A true outdoorsman, Joseph found solace in nature and had a deep love for hunting and fishing.  These passions were more than hobbies to him; they were a way of life.  He dreamed of a career in law enforcement, driven by his desire to protect and serve his community, a goal he pursued with great dedication.  Joseph’s legacy will be carried on by his family and friends, who will forever remember his strength, passion and unwavering love for those around him.  May he rest in peace reunited with those who preceded him, forever in the arms of God whom he loved.

Joey is survived by his son, Bentley aka “Chato” Arellano, his parents, Joseph and Marcella Arellano; sister, Maria (Josh Gutierrez); and brother, Matthew Arellano (Georgette); his nephews, David and Noah Arellano, Ramon and Diego Gutierrez; grandparents, Ernest and Lupe Provencio; uncles, Gabriel Arellano (Yvonne), Adam Arellano (Robin), Jaime Valenzuela (Anna), Ramon Montes (Barbara); aunties, Stephanie Provencio (Bobby), Desiree Provencio; godparents, Melcor and Susie Marquez along with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.  He was preceded in death by sister, Melissa Arellano; his grandparents, Joseph and Rita Arellano, Ramon and Rosario Montes, and his uncle and aunt, Armando and Norma Jacquez.
