Juan Jaramillo Padilla

Juan Jaramillo Padilla, 89, of Silver City passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Advanced Care Hospital in Las Cruces with his children by his side.

Visitation will begin at five o'clock in the evening on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Baca's Funeral Chapel in Silver City. The Holy Rosary will be recited by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga at six o'clock. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Silver City. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Officiating is Father Oliver Obele.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Joseph Garcia Jr, Joseph Garcia, Jesiah Acevedo, Gary Sarny, Angel Acevedo, Joey Collazo, David Padilla, Andrew Terrazas, Johnny Sierra and Roger Garcia.

Honorary Pallbearers are Claudio Padilla, Rudy Padilla, Bobby Carillo, Danny Ray Ortega, and Louie Ortega.

Juan was born August 26, 1936 in Los Angeles, CA to Juan and Antonia Padilla. He was the beloved husband of Mariana B. Padilla who preceded him in death.

Juan was the father of seven children: 1. Joann Lieras 2. David Padilla 3. Dora Padilla 4. Johnny Padilla 5. Raúl Padilla 6. Judy Garcia 7. Salvador Antonio Padilla,12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Our father was a man of few words but with a great presence.  He was an honest man who was stable and reliable in all of his ways and built his family on these virtues.  He was a man of many talents who built his own home here in Silver City, so his family will always have a place to call home.  Juan was honored and cherished by his family and extended family by the way he opened his heart and home for them. He will always be remembered by the attentive love he gave to his wife of 70 years and the love he carried for all his family.
