Juan Antonio Henriquez Martinez, 68, resident of Deming passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Viewing will begin Monday, October 11, 2021 from 9 to 11 o’clock in the morning at the New Life Apostolic Church in Deming. Funeral service will follow at 11 led by Pastor Jose Ramirez and Minister Raul Granillo. Concluding services and interment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery.
Juan was born of humble parents, Juan Carlos Henriquez and Juana Martinez in Suchitoto, Departamento Cuschaclan, El Salvador, Central America. He was raised in El Salvador. At the age of 18 civil war broke out in his country and his mother encouraged him to leave and start a new life in Mexico. He did obey his mother's advice. Tonio as he was affectionately called lived and worked many years in Mexico City. He recalled the "Big Earthquake" in 1985. Juan was invited in 1992 by his sister Margarita to come live in California, where he would meet his future wife, Sylvia. Tonio, lived a humble and prayerful life. He served Our Lord well inspite of his physical illness. His love for his wife of 23 years as well as his extended family would bring us closer to God.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia of the home; a brother-in-law, Frank Madrid of Deming; 3 sisters, Angela and Christina Henriquez of El Salvador and Margarita (Ramon) Valencia of Perris, CA; a brother, Jose "Chepe" Brijildo of El Salvador; as well as many nieces and nephews, his New Life Apostolic Church Family, beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Numerous Friends All of Deming.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Juana (Martinez) Henriquez; 2 brothers, Jose Santos and Andres Henriquez; In laws, Cornelio and Florence (Uzueta) Madrid, and a great nephew, Isaiah Madrid.
Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Arenibas, T.J. Saucedo, Joe Parra, Miguel A. Valencia, Noe Valencia and Salvador Gutierrez.
