Juan "Johnny" Ruben Padilla

Juan Ruben Padilla, 66 better known as Juanito or Johnny, passed away peacefully on Oct 21, 2024 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

He was born on Oct 27, 1957, in Silver City New Mexico, to Juan Padilla and Marianna B. Padilla. He was a proud resident of Silver City New Mexico where he lived a good portion of his later years. Most of his earlier years were lived in Pico Rivera, California. Where he was a Graphic Sign Artist for hundreds of local businesses. Johhny was an incredible artist as he was remembered spending countless hours hand painting tailor- made signs for individual businesses. He was remarkably talented and intelligent. Johnny Padilla was funny, outgoing, adventurous but most of all he displayed his loving and caring heart as he always made time to take his nieces to parks, ice cream, hiking and the New Year's Rose Bowl Parades. Johnny was the most generous person as he would literally give you the shirt on his back.

He is survived by his father Juan Padilla, older sister Joann Lieras, older brother David Padilla, younger sister Judy Garcia, brother- in- law Roger Garcia, younger brother Salvador Padilla, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Silver City. The Funeral Liturgy will follow thereafter. Father Martin Okonkwo will officiate. The Rite of Committal and Inurnment will take place privately at a later date. Following the Liturgy, the family will be gathering for a Celebration of Johnny's life at the Silver City Woman's Club for food and refreshments.
