Juanita Holguin Madrid

Juanita Holguin Madrid was welcomed to heaven on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, where she was joined by one of her best friends, Carol Viramontes. Born October 20, 1945 to Jesus and Micaela Holguin in Deming, NM where she was raised and lived out her life. Juanita graduated from Deming High School, class of 1963 and three short years later married her high school sweetheart, Henry T. Madrid. They were joined in matrimony on November 19, 1966 and spent the next 58 years hand in hand. Henry and Juanita raised three beautiful children, Cindy (Kenneth III) Miller, Rick Madrid, and Rosela (Joel) Nañez. While Juanita loved her children, she absolutely adored her grandchildren: Micaela, Katherine, Victoria, Kenneth, Pepper, Jacob, Cynthia, Claudia, Carina & Jerome. Juanita also had room in her heart to love five great grandchildren: Nico, Atlas, Henry-Luca, Ariah, & Grayson. Juanita loved nothing more than having her home full of her grand babies. When Juanita was not busy being the best grandmother possible, she enjoyed country cruises with her husband, usually to her favorite campsite in Georgetown. Juanita will be deeply missed, but the memories and legacy she left will NEVER be forgotten. Her gift of hospitality, her smile, her legendary tacos, and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ are just a few examples of her amazing character.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus, and Micaela Holguin; two brothers, Gustavo Holguin and Larry Palos, and one sister, Flavia Feasleman.

Juanita is survived by her husband, Henry Holguin; her 3 children, Cindy (Kenneth III) Miller, Rick Madrid, and Rosela (Joel) Nañez; her two sisters, Mary Helen “Nena” White and Elvira “Vera” Perez.

Please join her family and friends on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10 o’clock in the morning for her celebration of life memorial service at CitiLife Church (1200 E. Pear St. Deming, NM 88030). Her service will be followed by a luncheon at La Fonda Restaurant (601 E. Pine St.  Deming, N M 88030).
