Judith Marie (Gregory) Littleton
Was born August 13, 1947 in Dallas, Texas and died peacefully May 4, 2020 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Her parents were Harold Judson and Philo Mae (Newsom) Gregory. Judy lived in Texas and Oklahoma before the family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1956. A graduate of Wayland Baptist College and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Judy taught kindergarten for many years in New Mexico, sixteen years in the same classroom at Salazar Elementary School in Santa Fe, NM. She married James F. Littleton in 1971. They lived in Santa Fe, and retired to Howard Colorado before moving to Silver City, NM. She taught preschoolers many summers at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center and in Sunday School at almost every Baptist church where she was a member. She also taught pre-school training clinics for the Baptist Convention of New Mexico. She enjoyed reading the Bible through each year, often using different versions. She loved the art of card making and her recipients were far ranging. Judy was a member of the DAR, PEO, and enjoyed Red Hat luncheons. She traveled with great enjoyment with senior adults at First Baptist Church, Las Cruces and with Sandia Baptist in Albuquerque, and on trips sponsored by Good Samaritan Society, Las Cruces Village where she had resided since 2015. She especially enjoyed Costa Rica, Hawaii, Caribbean and a New England cruise, going to Branson, Magnolia in Waco, Texas and to musical performances. She attended Woman’s Missionary Union (Women on Mission) weekly meetings at her church; praying, giving and participating in missions.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jim, June 22, 2013; and her brother, James Lawrence Gregory, March 31, 2019.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Gregory Merritt and husband, Jack; nephews, Gregory Scott Merritt, Travis Adam Merritt, and David Judson Gregory; and niece, Meghan Kathleen Gregory; her sister-in-law Megan Gregory.
