Larry Anthony Marquez, 68, of Lordsburg passed away August 29, 2020 at University Medical Center in El Paso.
Visitation for Larry will be Friday, September 4, 2020 from 10 to 11 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 11 am. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:30 am at Santa Clara Catholic Church with Father Casmir Anozie, officiating. Concluding service and burial will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Benjamin Steiner, Johnny Candelaria, Michael Meza, Ricky Candelaria, Bobby Candelaria, Ernest “Manny” Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Sainz, Gerald O’Donnell and Rene Saucedo
Larry was born August 6, 1952 in Douglas, Arizona to Eloy and Amelia Marquez. He had attended Lordsburg High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Western New Mexico University. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and he was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lordsburg.
Larry is survived by his wife, Katrina Marquez; two sons, Lorenzo Marquez and Benjamin Steiner; stepson, Michael Levi Meza; daughters, Adriana Carpio, Rachael Marquez, Lauren Marquez, and Ysabell Marquez; step-daughter, Angela O’Donnell; brothers, Eloy “June Bug” Marquez, and Leo Marquez; Sister, LouAnne Gallegos; half brothers, George Marquez and Dennis Marquez. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Steve Marquez; sister, Josephina Marquez “JoAnn”; and a half sister, Anna Marie Marquez.
