Leroy Maldonado, 48 of Silver City passed away, April 25, 2022 at Gila Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Leroy was born July 31, 1973 in Silver City to Fidel Maldonado and Beatrice Gandara. A lifelong Silver City resident, he was a pipefitter and rod buster in the industrialized construction business. Leroy loved spending time outdoors which included time spent hunting, fishing, and camping.
Leroy is survived by four sons, Leroy Apodaca (Julieann Apodaca), Sebastine Apodaca (Elizabeth Medina) Jakob Maldonado, and Fidel Maldonado; four daughters, Mykayla Apodaca (Nicholas Garcia), Natasha Maldonado (Zebulen Clark), Ashtin Apodaca, Joclyn Ramos; one brother, Hyrum Gandara; five sisters, Yvette, Dorothy, Lynn, Patricia, and Teresa. Also surviving Leroy are seven grandchildren, Selena Apodaca , Steven Apodaca, Isaac Apodaca, Arianna Apodaca, Krizik Aguilar, Zaylene Apodaca, and Abel Garcia. As well as his dearest friends Irma Castillo and Valerie Trujillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Beatrice, and the mother of his children, Darlene Apodaca.
Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels. A Celebration of Leroy’s life will be at 10 am on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Harvest Fellowship Assembly of God, 1500 N. Hudson Street.
