Lourdes Barajas

Lourdes Barajas, 64, longtime Deming resident entered eternal rest on Monday, March 24, 2025 at her home.

The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 12:30 in the afternoon at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Memorial Mass will then be celebrated at 1 o’clock. The rite of committal and inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Fr. Prakasham Babu will be officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Lourdes was born February 10, 1961 in Nogales, AZ to Juan Barajas and Mercedes Figueroa. She was a very kind, loving, smart and holy woman. Lourdes received a bachelors degree in education and furthered her education and received a master’s degree in education from New Mexico State University. She served as a educator for many years and final retired from the Deming Public Schools. After retirement she enjoyed traveling, arts and crafts and reading. Lourdes was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and spent countless hours contributing to her congregation and served in the Alter Society. Lourdes will be deeply missed by her church and community.

She is survived by her 2 sisters, Angelica Barajas, and Adriana Camargo; as well as her many loving nieces and nephews. Lourdes is also survived by her church family, numerous friends, and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan, and Mercedes Barajas and 3 siblings, Norberto Barajas, Danitza Ruiz, and Patricia Lopez.
