Lucia Orozco Muñoz

Lucia Orozco Muñoz, 89, of Silver City entered eternal rest in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, May 22, 2026.

She was born on December 21, 1936 in Ascensión Mexico to Jose and Esperanza Orozco. Lucia loved the warm summers and would often be out and about. She enjoyed visiting friends and family, cruising, shopping, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Lucia married Eduardo Muñoz on July 7, 1957. They were blessed with 5 children: Benny Muñoz (Margo), Alice Turietta (Paul), Tommy Muñoz (Julie), Oscar Muñoz (Joann), and Olga Muñoz (Chris).

She is survived by her children, grandchildren Benny Jr (Maria), Dennis, Michael, Victoria (Erik), Ryan, Jazzmyn (Eric), Quiara and Christopher. Great grandchildren Nicholas, Luis, Michael Jr, Brenden, Breanna (Craig), Alonzo, Letricia, Erika, Adalynn, Ivory, Ellie, and Avyanna. Great great grandchildren Eternity, Elianna, and Cameron, and many kids she cared for throughout the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Eddie, sister Martha, brother Johnny, daughter in law Julie and great granddaughter Andrea (AJ).

Lucia will be remembered for her spunky, bubbly and fiery spirit and a laugh that was contagious.

A Prayer Vigil and Holy Rosary will be held at six o'clock in the evening on Friday, May 29, 2026 at Baca's Funeral Chapel in Silver City. Deacon Richard Maynes will officiate. The Funeral Mass will begin at ten o'clock in the morning on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Silver City. The Rite of Committal will follow at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Eddie. Father Oliver Obele will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Benny Muñoz Jr., Dennis Muñoz, Ryan Powell, Luis Jurado, Brenden Ybarra, Christopher Arellano, Michael Ybarra Sr., and Eric Martinez.

Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Ybarra Jr., Alonzo Ybarra, and Cameron Keys.
