Lucio Martinez Obituary

LUCIO MARTINEZ, 85, resident of Rio Rancho and former resident of Deming passed away Saturday April 30, 2022 in Rio Rancho.

Visitation will be Wednesday morning June 8, 2022 from 9 to 10 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where a rosary will begin at 10 o’clock led by Christine Milo. A graveside service will follow at Mt. View Cemetery with Fr. Prakasham Babu, Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church officiating.

Lucio was born March 4, 1937 in Lake Valley to Pedro C. and Maria (Rios) Martinez. After a long illness with a very high temperature at a young age, Lucio was left with a severe mental handicap. After his parent’s divorce his father remarried Savina Silva Serna who raised him and taught him the skills necessary for day-to-day life. He is survived by his brother, Matias Martinez of Rio Rancho, 2 sisters in law, and 10 nieces and nephews.
