Lucy Vega

Lucy Abeyta Vega, 89, of Silver City passed away Monday October 23, 2023 at her home.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at Ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard.  Officiating will be Father Martin Okonkwo.  Inurnment of Lucy’s ashes will be at a later date.  

Lucy was born January 8, 1934 in Silver City to Rafael and Candida Abeyta.  She was a housekeeper for many years and was a member of the Catholic Church.  Lucy enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking for her family and friends, whom all will miss her dearly.   

Lucy is survived by her three daughters, Mary Vega (Rudy Rios), Linda Vega, and Lisa Aguilar; seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; Sister, Josie Ramirez and her brother Pete Abeyta.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus; her son, Jesus Vega, Jr; sister, Veronica Abeyta Driggers; and four brothers, Daniel Abeyta, Raymundo Abeyta, Frank Abeyta and Marcos Abeyta.
