Luis Padilla

Luis Padilla, 91, Deming resident and proud United States Marine veteran passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 in Arrey, New Mexico with his family by his side. He was born in Carmen, Chihuahua to Antonio Padilla and Maria Escalante on June 22, 1934.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 10 to 11 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Service will then commence at 11 with Pastor Jose Ramirez of The New Life Apostolic Church officiating. The final interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where Luis will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Mary. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps.

Luis is survived by his sons, Mario Padilla (Stephanie Lynn), Cruz (Diane) Padilla, Michael Padilla, Luis (Frances) Padilla Jr., Andres Padilla, and Ricardo (Jeanette) Padilla; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Maria Padilla; his spouse, Mary Padilla; 3 grandchildren, Kristin Padilla, Autum Armas, and Paul Padilla; as well as 4 of his siblings.

Receiving the honor to serve as his pallbearers will be all his sons. Mario, Cruz, Michael, Luis, Andres, and Ricardo Padilla.
