Manuel S. Gonzalez

Manuel S Gonzalez, 89, of Silver City, NM passed away September 24, 2019 at Fort Bayard Medical Center.

Visitation will be from nine to ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where the Funeral Service will follow at ten o’clock.  Concluding service and burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Manuel Gonzalez, Manny Rosas, Shane Gonzalez, Nathan Gonzalez, Omar Felix, Sergio Estrada, and Ryan Gonzalez.

Manual was born June 26, 1930 in Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Manuel and Ynes (Sanchez) Gonzalez.  Manuel was a very talented musician.  His niche being stringed instruments and playing Mariachi, he played alongside many other talented musicians in Mexico and here in the United States.  Although he loved his music, his greatest love was his family.  His children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren were what he loved most.  Manuel was a kind and loving person, who would give and share anything with anybody.   Manuel will definitely be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Rosalba; sons, Marco A. Gonzalez of Pomona, CA, Manuel Gonzalez Jr (Lucrecia) of Burleson, TX and Osbaldo Felix (Shiomara) of Silver City, NM; daughters, Lorena Jackson (Robert) of Adelanto, CA and Lorena Felix (Manny Rosas) of San Bernardino, CA., Roberto Estrada.  Also surviving Manuel are his grandchildren, Shane Gonzalez (Crystal), Ryan Gonzalez (Rosalva), Renatta Griego (Luke), Omar Felix, Yesenia Felix, Nathan Gonzalez, Brittany Gonzalez, Ashley Gonzalez; 30 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.  Manuel was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalba Gonzalez, a step daughter, Ester Rojas, and a step son David Estrada.
