Manuela Duran de Castro, 77, resident of Columbus passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, TX.
Visitation will begin Friday, August 12, 2022, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at Baca’s Funeral Chapels with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to follow at 6 led by Oralia Duran de Garcia. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 13, 2022, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at 11 o’clock in the morning with the rite of committal and interment to follow at Valley Heights Cemetery in Columbus. Fr. Aloysius Orekie, Pastor, will officiate.
Manuela was born December 22, 1944, to Pascuala Sandoval and Andres Duran in Janos, Chihuahua, Mexico. “Manuelita” how most people knew her, was a loving and caring person, she loved to spend time with her family and cooking for everyone was something she enjoyed.
She is survived by her daughter, Reyna Cuevas of Columbus; her sons; Javier (Maria) Castro of Columbus and Jorge (Elisa) Castro of Texas; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Octavio (Maria) and Antonio (Robert) Duran; sisters, Marcelina (Milo) Armijo and Oralia (Everardo) Garcia.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Andres & Pascuala Duran; her husband, Ramon Castro; Siblings, Oscar, Horacio, Homero and Osvaldo.
Pallbearers will be Juan Cuevas, Jose Cuevas, Jorge Luis Castro, Raymond Castro, Javier Castro Jr., Gerardo Castro, Miguel Angel Paez, Alan G and Cris Romo.
