Margarita "Margie" G. Martinez

Margarita (Margie) G. Martinez, 81 of Hurley, NM passed away Wednesday September 22, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

A Visitation will start for Margie will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Infant Jesus Shrine in Hurley, NM. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will start at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Margie will be laid to rest at Fort Bayard National Cemetery immediately following. 

Pallbearers will be Meme Martinez, Peter Martinez, Derick Ramirez, Julian Flores, John Membrila, James Perea, George Baca, Jake Vega.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Demecio Torrez, Ben Martinez, A.C. Rodriguez, Henry Torres, Frank Cordova.

Margarita (Margie) was born September 28,1939 in Hurley to Julio P. Grado and Sofia M. Grado. Margie married Manuel (Meme) on February 11, 1957. She raised her 3 children and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gambling and camping trips with her family. Margie was a devoted catholic and parishioner of Infant Jesus Shrine in Hurley, NM. Margie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Manuel (Meme) V. Martinez of the home, sons Fernando G. Martinez and wife Mary Jane, Peter G. Martinez and wife Susie, daughter Diane M. Torrez and husband Demecio all of Hurley, NM. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Banjo Membrila (John), Meme Martinez (Toniette), Vanessa Torrez, Peter JR (Amanda),Crystal Baca (George), Elaine Martinez (James) and Gabrielle Vega (Jake). She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and sister Mary Ester Marin of Bayard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Alicia Medran and brother Carlos Grado.
