Martina Ramirez Obituary

Martina Ramirez, 58, of Bayard entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 28, 2022 and joined Our Lord’s blessed Heavenly Kingdom to accompany her mother, grandmother, and her two sons, having completed her earthly duties guided by Our Lord’s Hand.

Service Arrangements are pending.

She was born on July 18, 1964 in Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico and resided with family and friends in a town on the outskirts of the city where there were ‘vaqueros’ and farmers. She graduated top of her class in high school, then went on to attend the University of Chihuahua, earning her teaching degree. After this achievement she returned to her village where she taught for six years. She eventually gained an opportunity and became a private teacher for special needs children, while gaining her citizenship to the United States of America.

She taught in this position for four years, until an unfortunate illness struck which interfered with her ability to teach. She then decided to move to New Mexico to be near family in the Grant County area. Here she continued along her journey to meet and make friends whom she held dear to her heart until the very end. She made many beautiful and wonderful memories with her family and friends in Grant County, the place she loved and never wanted to leave. She loved Grant County, living in Santa Clara for ten years until she met the love of her life, Mr. Robby Beck at a family/friends function in Georgetown. They danced the night away to country western music, resulting in a marriage of almost thirty years. They had a love with no bounds for one another. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, helping her granddaughter with homework, gardening, watching telenovelas and a bit of sci-fi (Ghost Adventures was her favorite sci-fi show). Most of all, she loved spending time with her granddaughter Jonteen, gardening with her and traveling on out-of-town trips.

She leaves behind many family members and friends, her granddaughter Jonteen Alvarado; grandson, Jacob Gonzales Alvarado; her youngest son, Jonathan Alvarado; her husband and life partner, Robby Beck; her sisters Sofia, Andrea, and Concha; brother, Jesus; all of her nephews whom she loved; and friends whom she admired and cared about. To quote Martina: “Para todos los que quiero oye cuando los vemos otra vez en el Cielo yo los ayudo a recebir los.” (“For all those whom I loved and cared for: when we see each other again in heaven, I’ll be there to help receive you”)
