The long hard fight is over, as our Lord welcomed our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Mary Helen Maynes, 66, of Deming passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, February 24, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Recitation of the holy rosary will be recited by Gloria Vigil Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 10 o’clock in the morning at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30. The rite of committal and inurnment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 33% of the capacity of the church will be allowed, must wear a mask and social distancing will apply.
Mary was born to Jose Abran and Evelyn Marquez on July 6, 1954 in Deming. She was raised in Deming where she graduated from Deming High School in 1972. She married the love of her life, Rudy Maynes in April of 1977 and together raised their 3 children. Mary spent her early years working for Mountain Bell Telephone Company and most of her life as a secretary for Amigos Mexican Foods as well as a bus aid for Deming Public Schools. She was a kind and gentle soul who made an impact on so many. Mary loved her family and especially her grandchildren “little treasures”. She will be greatly missed and her legacy will continue to live through her family.
Survivors include her 3 children, Rudy (Jamile) Maynes of El Paso, TX, Daniel (Sandi) Maynes of Las Cruces, NM and Vanessa (Eduardo Ramirez) Maynes of Deming; 8 grandchildren, Yasmine, Alexis, Natalie, Jakub, Matthias, Diego, Khole and Emma; 4 brothers, Rudy L. (Anna) Marquez of Catalina, AZ, Richard Marquez of Casa Grande, AZ, Gilbert (Sonia) and Raymond (Ana) Marquez both of Deming; as well as 2 sisters, Terry (Bobby) Holguin and Gloria Marquez both of Deming.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Jose and Evelyn Marquez; her husband, Rodolfo Maynes and a baby brother, Jose Abran Marquez.
