Mary Carolyn Walters

In loving memory of our mother, Mary Carolyn Walters, 81, who passed away on May 23, 2025. She was born to Charles and Marion Bassett, on December 6, 1943, in Santa Rita, NM.

She was the devoted wife to Tedd Walters, and loving mother of Kenneth Walters, Carolyn Walters Short, and Ronald Walters. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jacob Walters, Kevin Walters Short, and Chelsea Walters; two great-grandchildren David Hernandez and Alani Walters; three siblings and their families, Robert and Dolly Bassett, Janelda Thompson, and James and Regina Bassett, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, whom she loved.

She was truly a kind person and loved all her family. She enjoyed traveling and always loved to play games. But mostly she was extremely passionate and skilled at playing Bridge. Bridge was her game, whether it was in person or online, she could not wait for the next game.

Our mother was a true role model to whom we will always look up. Her service will be at Baca’s Funeral Chapel in Silver City, on Friday, May 30th at 10:00 am
