Mitchell Diaz Garcia passed away on August 11, 2025 at the age of 62.
Mitchell was the son of Manuel Costales Garcia and Mary Diaz Garcia. He lived a life that was anything but ordinary. From an early age, Mitchell walked a path that was different from most,
facing hardships, challenges and trials that shaped him in profound ways. His journey was not always easy, and not everyone understood him, but he continued on with a stubborn determination that was uniquely his own. Though he may not have been the easiest person to know, his life was a reminder that every story has value and every soul has worth. To those who took the time to see beneath his rough edges, he revealed a depth of resilience, a fighting spirit, and a perspective that could only come with weathering many storms. As we reflect on his life, we are reminded of the words in Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”
Mitchell is survived by his brother, Gilbert Cruz and a sister, Diana Temple (Don). Although his absence leaves a quiet space in the world, his story will continue to live on in the memories of those who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Alfonso Diaz Garcia and Orlando Diaz Garcia.
The Holy Rosary will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025 at nine-thirty in the morning at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church followed by the Funeral Mass at ten o’clock in the morning. Concluding service and burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his father. Officiating will be Father Oliver Obele.
Serving as pallbearers are Don Temple, Don Josiah Temple, Aria Temple Jackson, Becky Garcia, Armando Placencio and Nick Kanellos. Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Maestas.
