Patrick Melendrez Obituary

Patrick Paul Melendrez, age 47, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Mountain View Regional  Medical  Center in Las Cruces, NM.

Patrick was born at Hillcrest Hospital in Silver City, NM on February 21, 1973 to Gilbert and Olivia Melendrez.

From a very young age, Patrick was a comedian. He had a gift for making people laugh and entertaining people. His great sense of humor continued into his adult years. He had tremendous natural athletic ability and was a very good baseball player. He was also very creative, he loved to draw and had a talent for writing.In his adult life, he traveled and worked in different parts of the country, making new friends along the way, some of these becoming his family. He made his home in Kansas for a time before returning to New Mexico. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs and was a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Lakers.  He enjoyed playing video games in his spare time. 

Patrick was preceded in death by his mother, Olivia M Melendrez, his father,  Gilbert S Melendrez,  and a nephew,  Regan Joel Jimenez. 

Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Villasenor; 2 sisters, Evelyn Jimenez (Julio) and Elizabeth Melendrez; 2 brothers, Charles Melendrez (Loretta Baca) and Gilbert Melendrez (Verna). He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins. He will be missed by many.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, a private graveside service for the family will be held. A funeral service will be scheduled at a later date.
