Pedro-Arturo V. Herrera

Pedro Arturo L. Herrera, 63, of El Paso, TX passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. 

Visitation for Arturo will be from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels.  The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6 pm led by Deacon Bill Holguin.  The Funeral Liturgy will be at 9:30 am on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Infant Jesus Shrine, 204 Cortez Avenue, in Hurley.  Concluding service and burial will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.  Officiating will be Father Casmir Anozie.  Serving as pallbearers will be Alfonso Herrera, Pedro-Arturo V. Herrera, Eloy Garza, Juan Rivera, Douglas Jones, and Dallas Herrera

Arturo was born January 23, 1957 in Silver City to Pedro Arturo and Maria Teresa Herrera.  He had graduated from high school and went on to attend and graduate from Virginia Tech with an Associate of Applied Science degree.  He had served his country honorably and retired from the United States Army.  Upon retirement he worked as an Officer for the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.  He was a member of the D.A.V. and the V.F.W.   A member of the Roman Catholic Church, he will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Arturo is survived by his wife of 44 years, Guadalupe Herrera; son, Pedro-Arturo V. Herrera; daughters, Maria Eve Jones, Jessica E. Herrera, Anita Herrera, and Delilah Herrera; his mother, Teresa Herrera; brother, Alfonso Herrera; sisters, Terry Theis and Sonia H. Castellanos.  Also surviving him are eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his loving caregiver, Sandra Fraire, who was always there for Arturo and his family.
