Phillip Rodriguez Esparza

Phillip R. Esparza, 49, former resident of Deming entered eternal life on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Cornerstone Hospital in Webster, TX. He was surrounded by the comfort of family during his final days. 

Viewing will begin Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Baca’s Funeral Chapel where a funeral service is to follow at 12. Pastor Patricia Liburd will officiate. Cremation will follow with Baca’s Mimbres Crematory.

Phillip was born November 24, 1971 in Deming to his loving parents, Hortencia Villegas and Thomas M. Esparza. He was a devoting husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, cousin, and friend. Phillip had a love beyond measure for his grandchildren. He was proud to be called grandpa. Phillip loved sports, especially football, where his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Phillip; family and God. He cherished his time making memories with family fishing trips, and BBQs in his back yard. Phillip will always be remembered for his genuine heart. He always let those he loved know how much they meant to him. He kept people rolling in laughter with his sense of humor. Phillips’s life would seem short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by him understand that his existence and imprint he left on our hearts will carry on forever.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Esparza; his children, Desaray D. Esparza (spouse, Kevin Bercow, children Dj, Daisie, Mary), Phillip D. Esparza (wife, Chantel Esparza, children Ethan and Kyla), Adrienne E. Esparza (children, Haley and DeAngelo), Santana Ballinas (children, Nevaeh, Azariah, Alizae), Allen Ballinas (wife, Dulce Ballinas, children, Aj and Mia), Elijah and Alejandro Ballinas; his mother, Hortencia Villegas; 5 brothers, Johnny Villegas, Thomas Ray (Deborah) Rodriguez, Tommy (Mary) Esparza, Paul (Rosie) Esparza and Martin Esparza; 6 sisters, Olga (Ricky) Holguin, Joann (Joe) Castro, Marcie (Lupe) Salazar, Patsy (Art) Rodriguez, Rachel and Stephanie Esparza; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins and friends.

Phillip is preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Esparza; a brother, Lonnie R. Villegas; Grandparents, Jose B. and Josefina E. Rodriguez, and niece, Angelica V. Salazar.
