Ramona A. Contreras

RAMONA A. CONTRERAS, 91, a lifelong resident of Lordsburg passed away Sunday January 2, 2022 in the comfort of her home.

Visitation will be Saturday January 8, 2022 at 10 o'clock at the Lordsburg Assembly of God where funeral services will begin at 11 o’clock with Pastor Joseph Hill officiating.  Concluding services and interment will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery.

Ramona was born September 28, 1930 in Lordsburg to Ynocncio and Lazara (Robles) Atilano.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family and especially all of her grandchildren.  Ramona liked to do word puzzles and watching her favorite novelas.  She was a member of the Lordsburg Assembly of God.

She is survived by her children, Christina Atilano (Jerry) of Tucson, AZ, Edward Nunez (Beti) of Tucson, AZ, Velia Laguna of Tucson, AZ, Crispin A. Contreras (Viola) of Tucson, AZ, Gloria DePaoli (Tommy) of Lordsburg, Johnny Contreras of Lordsburg, Michael Contreras (Inez) of Casa Grande, AZ, Francisco Contreras of Lordsburg, Manuel Contreras (Trish) of Las Cruces, Dolores Contreras of Tucson, AZ, Mario Contreras (Rachel) of Lordsburg, Peter Contreras (Monica) of Tucson, AZ, Crispin Contreras Jr., (Maria) of Albuquerque, and Carolina of California; brother Roy Atilano of Lordsburg; sisters Concha Vargas of Lordsburg, Libby Rodriguez of Oracle, AZ and Tina Mendez of Wilcox, AZ.  She has 62 grandchildren, 89 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.  Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Crispin and daughter Lupe Contreras.

Pallbearers will be Edward Nunez, Crispin A. Contreras, Johnny Contreras, Michael Contreras, Francisco Contreras, Manuel Contreras, Mario Contreras, Peter Contreras and Crispin Contreras Jr.
