RANDALL ANTHONY RENDON, 54, resident of Lordsburg passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in the comfort of his home.
Randall or Randy as many knew him was born November 30, 1968, in Silver City to Manuel and Raquel Norma (Rivera) Rendon. He graduated from Lordsburg High School in 1986 where he enjoyed playing baseball and football. He furthered his education at the University of New Mexico. Then in 1988, he entered the United States Marine Corps and excelled to E-4 Corporal status. Upon returning from his service in 1992, he attended New Mexico State University where he majored in computer science. He then went to work with the New Mexico Department of Transportation. He eventually went to the Federal Academy where he graduated as valedictorian and became a member of the Federal Department of Transportation. He had a career as a Motor Carrier Safety Specialist Investigator with the Federal Department of Transportation. Randy was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife Ramona Rendon of Lordsburg; his father Manuel C. Rendon of Lordsburg; daughters Marlena, Stephanie, and Raquel Rendon all of Lordsburg; brother Ron J. Rendon of Austin, TX; sister Julie T. Rendon of Silver City; step-sister Kandi Mann of Lordsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Raquel Norma
Rendon, maternal grandmother Lupe P. Rivera, paternal grandparents Seferina, and Monico Rendon, and stepmother Joyce Haines.
The services will be as follows, Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday morning, February 11, 2023, at 9 o’clock at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where a rosary will be recited at 10 o’clock. Funeral mass will immediately follow at 10:30 with Fr. Jude Okonkwo, Pastor officiating. Concluding services and inurnment will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery with veteran’s honors accorded. His pallbearers are Ron Rendon, Roger, Ruben, and Robbie Rayes, Augustine Ceniceros, and Alonzo Garcia.
