Raul C. Peña, III, 37 of Silver City passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his home.
The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Baca’s Funeral Chapels. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 6, 2020 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church with Father Oliver Obele officiating. The concluding service and burial will follow at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Andy Carbajal, Ramon Vigil, Luis Cruz, Jacob Carbajal, Thomas Gomez, Brandon Medina, Mathew Arellano, and Ricardo Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Peña, Juan Peña, Josh Medina, Adrian Saldana, Artie Cruz, Rudy Peña, Michael Hernandez, Jason Abeyta, Christopher Medina, Eric Carbajal, Joey Chavez and Johnathan Mohr.
Raul was born July 31, 1982 in Silver City to Raul Peña II and Emily Carbajal. He had attended Silver High School and was a member of the Catholic Church. Raul enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and working hard as a landscaper for family and friends. He had many hobbies, one of which was watching his favorite football team and being a big fan of the Oakland Raiders just like his dad was. Mostly though, Raul will be missed but never forgotten for his loving and caring personality, as well as the way that he protected and loved his family. .“Peña” is survived by his mother Emily Madrid and step-father, Navor Madrid of Silver City; step-mother, Anna Peña; companion, Valerie Flores; daughters, Marisela Corral of Bayard and Kazmira Vargas of Tyrone; brother, Vicente Peña (Ilene Saldana) of Silver City; sisters, Vanessa Peña (Christopher Medina), Veronica Peña, Alicia Peña and Genevieve Peña all of Silver City; step-brother, Navor Madrid III, Justin Madrid, and Nathan Madrid; step-sister Tonya Madrid and step-niece, Rahnon Madrid. Maternal grandmother, Petra Carbajal of Silver City; paternal grandmother, Genevieve Peña of Silver City; nieces, Adrianna Peña, Jazmine Peña; nephews, Ramon Vigil, Brandon Medina, Joshua Medina, Joseph Peña and Juan Carlos Peña. Raul was preceded in death by his father, Raul Peña II; grandfathers, Raul D. Peña and Rodolfo G. Carbajal; and a niece, Sofia Arias.
