Raymond Wayne King, 70, of Arenas Valley passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels.
Raymond preferred to go by Ray. He was born February 13, 1955 in Batavia, New York to Norman Ray and Ella Mae King.
He was a deeply heartfelt human being who spoke with love above all. Ray loved God and his family first. He lived a life dedicated to the word of God, and spreading it as often as he could to others through his words and actions.
Ray spent a lifetime working with his hands on a number of different things, but his specialty was cars. He got his start tearing up unusable scrap cars at junkyards in his youth, and learned what to do by using his hands. He could eventually diagnose a vehicle’s problems simply by listening to the engine.
Ray is survived by his sons, Jonathan King (Billie Thomas) and Daniel “Dan” King; brothers, Ed King, Larry Lance, and Wilbur “Buck” King; sisters, Christine, Laura, and Ruth Ann King.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Joanne; siblings, Norman, Joseph Alan, Lorraine, Dorothy and Norma Jane King.
A Memorial Service for Ray will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Cross Point Church in Silver City. Pastor Tim Heyer will officiate.
